Celebrating Australia Day is more than just beer and sausage sizzle in the backyard, or yet another reason for you to have a public holiday. You might argue that Christmas was just barely a month ago, that the decorations are still on your porch and the living room, or how the you can still vividly remember the taste of that amazing pavlova made by aunt Annie. But It’s the perfect time to bring the family together in a different mood. And it is time for more desserts and indeed more celebrations! We have gathered the most Australian desserts for you, some you might have heard of and some others you might have not, to celebrate this year’s Australia Day 2017.

1. Lamington

Well isn’t it the classic lamington, no surprise here, a must have on Australia Day! You can get creative with lamington especially with the jam filling. If you want a classic lamington recipe without the sugar to share with all family members, try this recipe.

2. Pavlova

Next is the crowd pleasing pavlova, a recipe that everyone will love. If you can make a great meringue, you will make an amazing pavlova. The toppings are more about taste, though your choice on the topping can certainly impress. 3. Chocolate Crackles

If you’re a mum you’ll know how much kids love chocolate crackles! This recipe is really simple and easy. 4. Vanilla Slice

5. ANZAC biscuits
