Make the syrup by combining all of the ingredients except the rosewater in a small pot and bring to the boil. Turn off heat and leave to cool. Once cooled stir through the rosewater.
Line a slice tray 20cm by 20cm with baking paper.
Combine the ingredients for the base and press into the prepared tray. Bake for 15 minutes.
Top with the chopped nuts and cinnamon and return to the oven for a further 10 minutes until golden (be careful the nut will burn very quickly.
Once cooked remove from the oven and let cool before drizzling with some of the prepared syrup
