Did you know that spending time on meal preparation is linked to better eating habits? Organising your week’s meals in one go helps you budget, eat healthier and (of course) means you save time during the week! We’ve got a few quick tips to help you become a meal prep pro:

Make time: Whether you do one big cook on Sunday or spread the prep out over a couple of days (once on the weekend and once midway through the week, for example), the real trick is actually setting aside a few hours to get it done. Once you’ve mastered that, you’re halfway there!

Make a list: Check out your pantry and fridge for things you already have, or that need using up, then make a list of the ingredients you’ll need for the week and stick to it! It’ll save on waste and money.

Chop to it: Meal prep doesn’t have to mean having the whole week’s meals cooked and in the fridge. Chopping up and portioning the vegetables and meat you’ll be using during the week is another great way to save time during the week.

Reimagine your meals: Preparing your meals early doesn’t mean you’re locked into one week of the same meal. Prepare your ingredients – for example, your meat and vegetables – and then add different sauces and flavours to give you a totally different meal! Just think – the same collection of vegetables and meat can be a curry, a stirfry or a casserole, just with different flavours!

Take it slow: Meal preppers love their slow cooker – for good reason! It does all the hard work for you, which means you can get organised without having to spend hours in the

Freezer friends: The freezer really is your best mate when it comes to meal prep. Those pre-chopped portions we talked above can be frozen for later in the week. And our favourite tip – portion up smoothie ingredients in individual bags and keep in the freezer. In the morning, all you have to do is grab one, blend and go. Too simple!
