In most of Australia, winter’s arrived and it’s made it pretty clear it means business. In addition to making it a bit trickier to get your washing dry, the rainy weather certainly makes it that bit harder to get up and into your usual exercise routine. Especially if you’re like me and prefer to go for a run or ride in the great outdoors – the wet weather can really dampen your motivation!
Here’s a few tips to beat those rainy day blues until the sun comes out again.
Okay, revolutionary, I hear you say. But there are plenty of indoor options to suit your preferred sport. Think indoor pools or stationary trainers for cycling fans.
If you think team sport might be your thing, why not round up a few mates and form a team? A lot of sports (netball, basketball, futsal, volleyball, to name a few) are often played undercover. Plus, it’s an excuse to catch up with your friends once a week!
When it’s cold, grey and rainy outside, sometimes you just want to stay in. Just because you haven’t made it to the gym doesn’t mean you’re doomed to sitting on the couch instead. There are plenty of workouts you can do from the comfort of your own home, to suit every skill level. All you need is a bit of space and half an hour!
