Chocolate Orange Scones

Ingredients

  • 3 cups/450g/16 oz all-purpose flour
  • 4 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp Natvia
  • 1/4 cup/60g/2 oz cold butter, cubed
  • 1/2 cup/90g/3 oz dark chocolate chips (sugar free if desired)
  • Zest and juice of 1/2 orange
  • 1 1/4 cup/310ml/10.3 oz milk of choice
  • 2 tbsp/40g/1.3 oz additional butter, melted

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 200°C and line a sheet pan with parchment paper.
  2. Place the flour, baking powder, salt, and Natvia in a bowl and mix together.
  3. Add the cubed butter and mix using your fingertips until pea size pieces of butter form.
  4. Add the milk, orange zest and juice and mix just until combined. Stir through the chocolate chips.
  5. Place onto a floured surface and roll out until 2cm thick and cut with desired cutter.
  6. Place onto sheet pan and brush with melted butter.
  7. Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown and baked through.
  8. Serve at room temperature or warm. Can be stored for up to 3 days in an air tight container.
