Marzipan and Cherry Hot Chocolate

Recipe by Farah from The Soul spoon This simple gorgeous Hot Chocolate is the ultimate comfort in these wintery months. Combining the almond flavours of marzipan with the sharp cherry and dark mellow chocolate flavours, it truly is an indulgent hot chocolate with no refined sugars in sight! Not just that, this Hot Chocolate is also vegan and gluten-free!

Ingredients

1 Mug Full of Almond Milk (or milk of your choice) Half Tsp cinnamon 1.5-2 Tbsp Cocoa 2 tsp Natvia   Frothy cream 2 tbsp Cream of your choice (here we used coconut cream or soya cream) A couple of drops of almond essence 1/2 tsp Natvia   Cherry puree Blend togerther a few cherries until smooth

Method

  1. Whisk the cream with almond essence and Natvia until it’s frothy and to the consistency of your liking
  2. Heat the milk in a pan on low to medium heat and mix in the rest of the ingredients except the cream mix. Hand whisk this mixture to incorporate the ingredients into the milk. Let this simmer until hot.
  3. Serve in a mug or glass and spoon the frothy cream mixture on top, add the cherry Purée and stir in if you wish.
