Ingredients
For the frangipani layer :
- 100 grams melted butter
- 100 grams ground almonds
- 3 tbsp Natvia Sweetener Canister 350g
- 1 Egg
- 1 tsp almond extract
- Mix all the ingredients together to create an almond paste batter , set aside .
For the cake
- 4tbsp Natvia Sweetener Canister 350g
- Butter 150g softened
- Eggs 3
- Self-raising flour 150g
- Ground almonds 75g
- Zest of 1 orange
- Handful of Flaked almonds for the topping
Method
- Preheat oven to 160С
- Cream sweetener and butter until pale and fluffy. Beat in eggs, one at a time, until combined.
- Sift in flour and sprinkle in ground almonds; fold into mixture. Mix in orange zest .
- Add 1/2 of the batter to the tin followed by 1/2 frangipani mix, repeat again .
- Top the frangipani layer with flaked almond and bake for 60 min at 160C.
